Eradicate self-pity...cultivate ruthlessness, a ruthlessness towards oneself, a refusal to entertain self-indulgence. An eradication of self-pity..
I have made a career of caring for others, of being obedient and caring and conscientious and dutiful; also, a career of being lazy and self-indulgent and overly-Romantic. (The Romantic state of mind never was geared towards action)
Other qualities are required now, in order to become an independent agent, one who lives by the 'free lance'; as Kosinski would like it defined, this profession of mine, I will be an 'investor', who invests in himself, first.

Here is an exchange of letters between me and Il Mago del Mallorca:

John Percival Gibson - I gotta ask you: in 1967 they made a movie on Mallorca. It was called 'The Magus', w Michael Caine, Candice Bergen, and Anthony Quinn. The beach at the villa of the main charcater, the view from there, in the film, shows cliffs like these ones. I'm studying that film right now. Any idea where on Mallorca that was filmed? love the villa.

September 11 at 9:59pm Bob Roberto Gourlay - This is a lovely area just outside of SOLLER on the way to DEYA...its called SA FORADADA...I used to do Prirate Excursions there with tourists where we made a great big PAELLA and good drinks, including a COGNAC that NASA used to send Astronauts to the moon!!
September 13 at 9:50am Badwater Mallorca - The film "the magus" was filmed in the beach called now "Playa del mago"(named after the movie), that is located next to portals vells on the road to "El Toro". Franco allowed, and, if I am not wrong, paid for the big house to be build on the rocks of that beach only for that movie, that then was abandoned.
7 hours ago ....John Percival Gibson Wow! Thanks so much, Badwater, that's great information. There is a story within a story there, the story of how the film was made. Franco, I don't hear that name much anymore. I hope to be in spain in 2013, so Playa del Mago is a place I must go to.
